Our story
In 2020, I started a large flower garden as a way to reconnect with nature and work with my hands after long days in a career that unexpectedly kept me behind a computer all day (as so many of us experienced that year!). Gardening quickly became a therapeutic escape, allowing me to unwind and rediscover my creativity. The act of growing and arranging flowers reignited my passion for art & design- areas I had studied and practiced throughout college. During my first growing season, I found myself sharing flowers with everyone I knew, just to brighten their day. Seeing the joy it brought to my friends, family, and neighbors was truly addictive! What started as a hobby blossomed into a full-fledged passion for floral design, and that's how Sunrise Hill Flowers came to life.
Meet the Florist
Hello, my name is Lindsey Doran, the owner and lead designer behind Sunrise Hill Flowers. As a wedding and event florist, I draw inspiration from nature and art. The colors, shapes, and textures in the garden never fail to amaze me, and flowers have inspired me to roll up my sleeves, get creative, and share the joy they bring with others. Whether I am out in the feild or exploring the flower market, I love selecting from a vibrant palette of blooms that fuel my creativity. These elements come together to form thoughtful designs that bring happiness to others. Through Floral design, I’ve realized that my background in Fine Arts & Design has given me the foundation to create beautiful arrangements, color palettes, and styles that perfectly suit my wedding and event clients. I'm so grateful to have found a career where I can channel my passion for creativity and design while continuing to grow as an artist. What makes it even more fulfilling is knowing that my work can inspire, bring joy, and offer comfort and beauty to those around me. I'm excited about where this journey has taken me, and I am deeply thankful to each person in my life that has offered support and encouragement along the way!
Design with Intention
Flowers have an incredible ability to transport us to a specific time and place while infusing any space with vibrant, uplifting energy. At Sunrise Hill Flowers, or goal is to create a multi-sensory experience that captivates the senses with a beautiful blend of colors, scents, and textures. From the moment we receive our blooms to the final arrangement, we carefully handle, condition, and store our flowers to ensure the freshest product and longest vase life for every design. Sustainability is at the heart of our mission, which is why we prioritize using locally sourced, seasonal flowers from values-aligned farmers and support regional agriculture during the growing season. I also enjoy educating clients about the availability and seasonality of flowers, so they can be confident they're receiving exactly what they envision for their special day. For events held outside our growing season, I personally select each bloom from the largest collection of premium imported flowers available at our local wholesale market. At the end of the day, my goal is to create floral designs that not only enhance your event, but also reflect the care and thoughtfulness that goes into every step of the process. It's about creating lasting memories, supporting local growers, and sharing the beauty of nature in a way that feels both personal and meaningful.
